SHIFT was a german/brazilian program for applied ecosystem sciences and part of the environmental sciences program of the Germany minsitry of education and research (BMBF).

During the SHIFT program I worked during a 6 month stay in Manaus at the Embrapa and did a pitfall trap evaluation of the soil arthropod fauna in agroforestry and primary forest systems with a special focus on spiders for my diploma thesis.
